About
Hi, Jack here.. professional emcee, protalker, crowd fluffer, off-piste commentator, and live events strategist.
Known for improv and quick wit, I've been blessed with the rare ability to build instant audience connection with signature rhetorical rapier styles that deliver the smiles.
And what a blessing it has been.
Now, it wasn't always this way.
I went from dread of public speaking in high school, to being forced to answer front-of-class, Feynman-inspired oral chalkboard physics exams in college.
So grateful you put me through all that, Hooshy!
Dr. Hooshang "Hooshy" Tahsiri believed real learning happens when you show some grit, when ya have to do the physics in real time, explain your steps, and handle questions on the spot, not just regurgitate formulas, in front of the whole class.
It was then I realized ( or because I was commanded to! ) I could turn an otherwise stressful occasion into active, public problem-solving. It was a major breakthrough for me: it was a learnable skill. Lots of fails, but that's what it's like being on the frontier.
Nowadays, what makes me so darn good at this game of thrones and event surprises (+ my 3 friends: dwell, discovery and delight), is simple: iteration. I’ve been the active voice delivering hundreds of them. Yes, the frontier again.. the edge of innovation and discovery.
Voicing live participant-sporting events, where I’m the guy handed a microphone and maybe a script, maybe not.. standing in the arena as MC, unfolding the bloom of the day like an origami master, while feeling the crowd’s real-time reaction is really quite a thrill. And quite instructive; every one of them left me better than they found me.
When the design & delivery hits, you see the energy light up instantly.
When it misses, you feel it immediately.
That frontier-line feedback loop taught me how to better craft experiences that actually return that ROE engagement favor and the stoke we all crave. It's like making pizzas: you're gonna burn a few.. but ultimately, de'lish!
Flash forward to becoming a founder, live events angel investor, amateur pizzaiolo and producer.. endeavoring now to harness, share, coach & and teach this be-what-we-sell expertise into action.
The mission now is all about sharing and crafting experiences that blend the stoke & vibe with the mission and strategic leadership the industry needs now.
And I'm here to tell ya: it's all doable, all learnable skills.
Perishable, but learnable.
Let's go.
